Kovtun played at Lamar (2011-2012, NCAA D1) and at Texas Woman`s University (2012-2014, D2). Last season she played in 28 games while averaging 17,4 minutes, 5.5 points, 5.6 rebounds and 1.9 blocked shots.

She played at Kursk State University in Kursk, Russia from 2009-2011. Kovtun averaged seven points and five rebounds in 2010-2011.

Kovtun is expected to debut on Saturday against Audentes.
