Bīriņa, Pavlovska lead LU to big road win

Great defensive play in the second half helped the University of Latvia to achieve the second consecutive win in the Latvia-Estonia league by beating AmEst Rapla 76-44 on Saturday, January 24.

Ilze Ose-Hlebovicka side build a 43-32 lead in the first half. LU took complete control with a 33-12 run after the break.

LU improved to 6-7 in the Top 12, while AmEst Rapla dropped to 2-11.

All time series: 1-6 (this season 0-2).

Stat of the game: LU players shutdown the hosts on the defensive end, by limiting Rapla to only 12 points in the second half.

Stars of the game: LU center Vineta Bīriņa posted her third consecutive double-double. She had 18 points on 9-of-19 shooting from the field and added 16 rebounds. Eva Pavlovska scored 17 points.
