Digna Strautmane scored 23 points, grabbed 15 rebounds and made six assists for her fourth "double-double" of the season, while Latvia U16 team (2-1) beat "Kolibri Pepsi/47. vidusskola" (0-3). Digna`s older sister, "TTT juniores" forward Paula, collected 14 rebounds, three assists and two steals in a 56-52 win against Tartu University.
Both sisters played for the U16 team in their debut season. Paula Strautmane led the team in four categories: rebounding (9.4 rebounds per game), assists (2.5), steals (1.7) and efficiency (14.6). She averaged 9,4 points per game.
"I just don't like to lose, so I do everything to win in every situation," Paula said in the summer of 2013, when the Latvian team fought its way up to the 7th place in the U16 European Championship in Albena, Bulgaria.
Her younger sister, 189 centimeter tall center Digna Strautmane, shares the same hard work ethic. Last season she earned her first double-double. In the November 4, 2012 game against “Eclex Tallinn” Digna had 15 points and 15 rebounds, being 14 years, one month and sixteen days old.
This season Digna continues to improve and shine on. On Monday, January 20, she was unstoppable. By the contrast, “Kolibri Pepsi” players entered the court without two centers – Paula Lūķe and Līga Kalniņa. The U16 team won the battle of rebounds and went all the way to take the second game in three days – 55:41 (16:9, 11:12, 12:14, 16:6).

Stat of the game: The U16 team outrebounded their opponents, 55-32.
Star of the game: Digna Strautmane made 10 of 22 two point shots and her only three pointer. She had 23 points, 15 rebounds, six assists, two steals and two block shots for efficiency rating of 35.
