Ainārs Čukste side en route to the "Top 5" finish beat France for the first time, secured first place in Group D and made quarterfinals for second year in a row.

Team captain Digna Strautmane averaged 13,1 points and 11,0 rebounds per game, throwing in 11 blocked shots over the seven matches.
